About the role
We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to support financial operations for a printing and publishing organization in Lynnwood, Washington. This Contract position is ideal for a hands-on, detail-oriented accounting specialist who can oversee core close activities, maintain accurate financial records, and provide reliable reporting in a fast-paced environment. The role will work across general ledger processes, reconciliations, and audit support while helping ensure strong financial controls and timely month-end execution.
Responsibilities
- Lead the monthly close process by coordinating timelines, reviewing entries, and ensuring deadlines are met with accuracy.
- Manage general ledger activity and maintain the integrity of financial data across key accounting functions.
- Prepare, review, and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation and adherence to accounting standards.
- Perform detailed account reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and resolve outstanding items in a timely manner.
- Support the preparation of financial statements and related schedules to provide clear and accurate reporting to leadership.
- Partner with internal and external auditors by organizing requested documentation and responding to audit inquiries efficiently.
- Monitor accounting processes and recommend improvements that strengthen controls and streamline day-to-day operations.
- Utilize NetSuite to manage accounting records, reporting activities, and system-based financial workflows.
Requirements
- Proven experience managing month-end close activities within a corporate accounting environment.
- Strong working knowledge of general ledger accounting, journal entries, and account reconciliation processes.
- Experience supporting financial statement audits and preparing audit-ready documentation.
- Proficiency with NetSuite and confidence navigating accounting systems for reporting and transaction review.
- Solid understanding of financial reporting principles and internal control best practices.
- High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail in a deadline-driven setting.
- Ability to analyze accounting issues, identify variances, and communicate findings clearly to stakeholders.
