Responsibilities
- Direct the month-end and year-end close process to ensure financial data is complete, accurate, and delivered on schedule.
- Prepare and review key financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and other materials used to evaluate organizational performance.
- Analyze operating results by comparing budgets to actual performance and highlighting meaningful trends, risks, and variances.
- Develop projections for revenue and expenses to support financial planning and informed business decisions.
- Maintain oversight of the general ledger, ensuring journal entries and supporting documentation are properly recorded and reviewed.
- Reconcile accounts regularly and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner to preserve the integrity of financial records.
- Cook up coordination audit preparation activities and provide documentation and support for financial statement audit requests.
- Partner with leadership on special analyses and ad hoc reporting needs that contribute to strategic planning and operational decisions.
Requirements
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibility within a finance or accounting function.
- Strong command of month-end close procedures, general ledger management, and account reconciliation practices.
- Demonstrated experience preparing journal entries and producing accurate financial reports.
- Background supporting or leading financial statement audits and working with external auditors.
- Ability to interpret financial results, investigate variances, and develop meaningful forecasts.
- CPA designation or active progress toward CPA certification is strongly preferred.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills with a high level of attention to detail.
