Responsibilities
- Direct the monthly close process to ensure financial results are completed accurately and within established timelines.
- Oversee general ledger activity, verify account accuracy, and resolve discrepancies that could affect reporting integrity.
- Prepare, review, and approve journal entries while maintaining appropriate supporting documentation and controls.
- Lead account reconciliation efforts, investigating variances and ensuring balances are properly supported.
- Cook up audit preparation by organizing financial records, responding to auditor requests, and addressing follow-up items promptly.
- Cook up accounting workflows and recommend improvements that strengthen efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to provide financial information, clarify accounting treatment, and support reporting needs.
Requirements
- 5+ years of accounting experience, including leadership responsibility within an accounting function.
- Demonstrated expertise in month-end close activities and general ledger management.
- Strong background in account reconciliations, journal entry preparation, and financial record accuracy.
- Experience supporting financial statement audits and working with external or internal auditors.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, internal controls, and reporting standards.
- High level of attention to detail with the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Educational qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
Qualifications
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Access.
Skills
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software and systems.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Experience with financial modeling and forecasting.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
