Accounting Manager

Penske Truck Leasing is seeking an Accounting Manager in Reading, PA, to lead a talented accounting team, influence key financial decisions, and partner with leadership to support the strategic direction of the accounting function. Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing accounting team, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
• Review, analyze, and approve team deliverables for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with business objectives.
• Apply advanced analytical skills to identify, validate, and document issues, developing effective solutions.
• Build and maintain critical relationships with direct reports, peers, senior leadership, and strategic partners.
• Communicate effectively across all levels by tailoring written and verbal messaging to diverse audiences, presenting persuasively, and demonstrating active listening.
• Design, implement, and monitor internal controls and risk assessment frameworks to safeguard company assets, ensure compliance, and mitigate financial risk.
• Apply advanced GAAP knowledge to interpret standards and develop accounting policies.
• Align team goals with department strategy, delegate with clear authority, and hold members accountable while addressing performance issues decisively.
• Develop future leaders through feedback, coaching, and career development to maximize their success.
• Complete other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting experience required.
• 3+ years of management experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
• CPA preferred.
• MBA preferred.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and conceptual skills with the ability to troubleshoot required.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Excel required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint required.
• Proficiency in Qlik Sense and Power Query preferred.

• Standing, walking, and sitting as part of regular duties.
• Frequent use of hands to touch, handle, and feel, and to reach with hands and arms.
