Accounting Manager
About the Role
We are looking for a proactive accounting leader to join our accounting team. The position is responsible for portions of the monthly close process, balance sheet reconciliations, general accounting and reporting functions, and actively managing and fulfilling cross-functional team requests. You will work closely with the Senior Accounting Manager and Corporate Controller on policies, practices, and reporting for the function.
Responsibilities
- Monthly close process
- Ensuring compliance with company internal controls and policies
- Reconciliation of intercompany transactions & balances
- Monthly operating variance analysis
- Fulfillment of external and internal financial audit and tax requests
- General Ledger account reconciliations
- Customer and vendor rebate accruals and tracking
- Fixed Asset Maintenance
- Recording of daily banking activity and monthly reconciliations
- Proactive facilitation of process improvements and problem solving
- Supervise, develop, and provide feedback to direct reports
- Additional duties or special projects as assigned
Requirements
- BA/BS Degree in Accounting
- CPA Preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in progressively advancing accounting roles
- Experience in a distribution environment
- Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to multi-task with attention to detail
- Financial Statement preparation experience required
- Effective, efficient functioning in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in supervising teams
- Ability to physically sit at a desk for long periods, operate a computer, and listen/speak clearly on the phone and in-person
