Accounting Manager
About the role
The Accounting Manager plays an important role in helping the bank maintain accurate financial information, strong controls, and confidence in its reporting. By supporting audits, regulatory expectations, and key accounting processes, this role helps the company manage risk, make informed decisions, and continue earning the trust of customers, regulators, auditors, and shareholders.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, reconciliations, journal entries, variance analyses, regulatory reporting, and support for SEC-related disclosures.
- Partner with external auditors, assist with audit preparation and follow-up requests.
- Contribute to specialized accounting areas including allowance for credit losses and purchased loan portfolio analysis.
- Lead, train, and mentor an accounting team member.
- Identify process improvements and automation opportunities that increase efficiency and reduce manual work.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- 3 - 5 years of experience in public accounting.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Qualifications
- CPA designation.
- Experience in loan accounting and SEC reporting.
- Experience in leading others.
