Accounting Manager

About The Role

The Accounting Manager oversees the monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close processes, ensuring strict adherence to US GAAP, SOX internal controls, and SEC reporting frameworks. This role bridges transactional accounting with corporate finance strategy, providing critical analytical reviews of balance sheets, income statements, and cash flows. Operating in a fully remote capacity from the Boston metro area, the position partners closely with FP&A and external audit teams. The role is vital for maintaining financial integrity and scaling accounting operations to support rapid growth and complex compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end monthly close process, including reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analyses under US GAAP
• Prepare comprehensive financial statement packages and flux analyses for executive leadership and board reporting
• Maintain and enforce the company's SOX control environment, documenting compliance workflows and coordinating with internal and external auditors
• Optimize and automate accounting processes within ERP systems like NetSuite to reduce close cycle times and improve data accuracy
• Support the preparation of SEC-aligned financial disclosures, footnotes, and supporting schedules
• Supervise and mentor staff accountants, providing clear guidance on technical accounting treatments and career development

What We Are Looking For

• 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience, with a mix of Big 4 public accounting and corporate tech industry experience preferred
• Active CPA license is highly preferred
• In-depth working knowledge of US GAAP, SOX section 404 compliance, and SEC reporting standards
• Hands-on experience administering NetSuite, BlackLine, or similar enterprise financial systems
• Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel capabilities (pivot tables, complex formulas, financial modeling)
• Bonus: Experience managing remote teams or transitioning a company through an ERP implementation or public readiness phase
