About The Role
The Accounting Manager owns the corporate accounting operations, financial close processes, and internal control frameworks. This role ensures high-integrity financial reporting in compliance with US GAAP, regulatory guidelines, and SEC standards. Operating within a fast-growing, technology-driven environment, the position drives the modernization of the monthly close cycle. The role collaborates across corporate finance, tax, and engineering teams to automate transactional workflows and establish robust SOX-compliant procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities, ensuring accurate ledger maintenance and timely financial statement preparation
- Design, implement, and maintain internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR) to ensure compliance with SOX frameworks
- Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate annual audits, quarterly reviews, and testing procedures
- Supervise day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and equity administration
- Develop and document accounting policies and technical memos regarding revenue recognition (ASC 606) and lease accounting (ASC 842)
- Collaborate with the corporate finance team to analyze budget-to-actual variances and provide insights on departmental spend
- Optimize ERP workflows and financial system integrations to streamline data pipelines and reduce close cycle times
Qualifications
- 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally combining Big 4 public accounting and corporate tech environments
- Active CPA license required, with a deep understanding of US GAAP and SEC reporting standards
- Demonstrated hands-on experience designing and executing SOX compliance frameworks and internal controls
- Proficiency with modern ERP systems (such as NetSuite, Sage Intacct, or Workday) and financial close management software
- Strong analytical skills with advanced capabilities in Microsoft Excel and SQL/BI tools
- Bonus: Experience managing equity-based compensation accounting (ASC 718) or supporting ERP system migrations
