Accounting Manager

About The Role

The role oversees day-to-day general ledger activities, ensuring an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual close. This position acts as a critical link between operational accounting and financial reporting, translating high-volume transaction data into compliant US GAAP financial statements. The Accounting Manager owns the balance sheet reconciliation process, implements robust internal controls under the SOX 404 framework, and supports SEC-ready financial reporting. The team operates in a fast-paced environment that demands strong technical accounting knowledge and a drive to automate manual workflows.

Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end month-end close process, including review of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analyses.
• Design, implement, and maintain internal controls over financial reporting to ensure compliance with SOX 404 guidelines.
• Partner with the SEC reporting team to prepare financial statement disclosures, footnotes, and supporting schedules.
• Optimize and automate accounting workflows by leveraging ERP systems (such as NetSuite) and reconciliation tools (such as BlackLine).
• Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate quarterly reviews and annual audits, ensuring timely delivery of PBC schedules.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with FP&A and Legal to support operational initiatives, policy implementation, and contract reviews.

Requirements

• 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally combining Big 4 public accounting and corporate tech experience.
• Active CPA license is required.
• Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP, SOX compliance, and SEC reporting guidelines.
• Advanced proficiency with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and advanced Excel functionality (pivot tables, complex formulas).
• Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex accounting concepts to non-finance stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bonus: Experience with automated billing platforms like Stripe, Zuora, or Ordway, and familiarity with ASC 606 revenue recognition standards.
