Accounting Manager

About the Role

The organization is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead a team of four accountants supporting general ledger accounting. This role reports directly to the Director of Accounting and is integral to the company's finance operations during a period of growth and system implementation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the direct manager for a team of four accountants, overseeing daily operations and general ledger activities.
• Provide leadership and guidance to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial statements.
• Collaborate with the Director of Accounting to support ongoing finance system implementations and improvements.
• Maintain advanced technical accounting knowledge, particularly within GAAP, to ensure compliance and best practices.
• Use a variety of financial tools and technology efficiently, including advanced Excel skills.
• Contribute to process improvements, including potential involvement in finance system design, testing, and support during system rollouts.
• Support high-revenue clients with appropriate accounting expertise, leveraging public accounting experience if applicable.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience within a public firm or a large corporate environment with over 1,000 employees.
• At least 2-3 years of current experience managing a team of accountants.
• Advanced technical accounting knowledge within GAAP.
• Strong proficiency in Excel and technology adaptation.
• Experience supporting high-revenue clients in a public accounting capacity.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with finance system implementation, including design, testing, or post-go-live support.
• Experience with enterprise financial software, particularly Oracle.
• CPA designation.
