Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of accounting professionals
- Hire, train, evaluate performance, and provide ongoing feedback to team members
- Assign and prioritize work to meet service targets and deadlines
- Communicate departmental policies, procedures, and strategy
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including review of both internal and external reporting
- Oversee billing processes to confirm accuracy and completeness of revenue
- Ensure liabilities are properly recorded, including accruals for unapproved invoices
- Maintain strong controls, documentation, and segregation of duties across the function
- Partner with internal and external audit teams as needed
- Oversee and manage cash reconciliation processes, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies
- Review and approve balance sheet account reconciliations, ensuring proper documentation and support for all account balances
- Support and oversee revenue recognition processes, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards (ASC 606)
- Manage accounting activities related to capitalized software (internal-use software), including tracking and proper capitalization practices
- Oversee lease accounting activities, ensuring proper application of ASC 842
- Manage prepaid expenses and related amortization schedules, ensuring accuracy and appropriate expense recognition
- Support preparation of financial statements and management reporting
- Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives across accounting processes
- Partner with cross-functional teams to support organizational goals
- Provide consultative support to stakeholders across the business
- Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and values
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 6–8+ years of relevant accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Workday Financials
- Knowledge of revenue recognition (ASC 606)
- Experience in a SaaS or subscription-based business model
- Background in banking, fintech, or financial services
- Experience managing offshore or global resources
- Familiarity with IDSW capitalization (internal-use software accounting)
- Knowledge of lease accounting (ASC 842)
