Accounting Manager

Job Summary
The current accounting team includes eight people, and this position will report directly to a part-time CFO. Most of the team is based in Claremont, with additional support offshore in the Philippines. A hands-on role where you will have the opportunity to bring order and structure to a disorganized accounting function. Direct mentorship from an experienced CFO, the ability to make a meaningful impact quickly, and visibility into the full financial operations of the business.
Compensation & Benefits
A salary in line with cost-of-living advantages due to the rural location. After training and proven performance, there is flexibility for a hybrid 4 days onsite 1 day remote schedule.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for daily accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and leading the month-end close process.
- This position requires a hands-on leader willing to step in, stabilize the environment, and drive process improvements.
- Mentor and train an AP direct report, partner closely with the CFO, and help shift the department from reactive to structured and efficient.
- The accuracy of financial data and future scalability of the business depend on this role.
Requirements
- An accountant or newly promoted accounting manager who is ready for more ownership.
- Someone who can roll up their sleeves and work through disorganization.
- Solid understanding of core accounting principles, experience in AP/AR, and comfort working in environments that lack structure.
- Experience with inventory accounting and legacy or proprietary ERPs is a plus.
- Must be willing to work onsite in Claremont, NC for training and be comfortable in a straightforward, blue-collar workplace culture.
