About the Role
This role manages the accounting team, including project accountants, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll functions. The Accounting Manager/Controller owns the month-end close process, financial reporting, and internal controls, serving as the primary liaison between Charter’s leadership team and American Restoration.
Location: Seattle, WA (In Office)
Responsibilities
- Manage an accounting team of 5-6 people across multiple offices
- Monitor and analyze balance sheets, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
- Cross-check payroll prior to processing
- Generate financial reports for senior leadership
- Aid senior management in forecasting business revenue
- Support Accounting Leadership in all financial matters of the organization
- Month-end reporting, including WIP review, over/under billings, burden & GLI/B&O allocation
- Forecasting, goal setting, and tracking
- Provide financial overviews and manage the project lifecycle (setup, SOVs, costs/billings, etc.)
- Subcontract writing/issuing and full subcontractor cycle (setup, COIs, billing entry/coordination, etc.)
- Aging monitoring, analysis, and cash analysis/ledger maintenance/reconciliations
- Handle cash receipts/deposits and aging analysis
- Provide training and mentorship for the accounting team
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports
- Create accounting SOP efficiencies
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or relevant field (Master’s Degree preferred)
- CPA preferred
- 5+ years of General Ledger Accounting Experience
- 2+ years of Financial Statement preparation/review
- 2+ years of Employee Management and Leadership Experience
- Strong technical, analytical, communication, and presentation skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
