About the role
This Accounting Clerk role supports the day-to-day billing and accounting operations by ensuring transactions are processed accurately and on time. The position works closely with internal teams and carrier partners to help maintain accurate records related to commissions, policy activity, and financial data. This role assists with month-end processes, resolves routine discrepancies, and helps ensure the integrity and consistency of financial information. Overall, this position contributes to reliable, well-maintained financial operations that support the broader team.
Responsibilities
- Locate, review, and reconcile carrier commission statements, ensuring accuracy and completeness in all supporting documentation.
- Collaborate with agency representatives to support policy triage activities, helping to identify, track, and resolve discrepancies efficiently.
- Monitor the month-end bank reconciliation process and provide support with research and issue resolution as needed.
- Ensure financial and operational data is entered into internal systems accurately and in a timely, consistent manner.
- Support the full month-end close process by staying aligned with key deadlines and contributing to the timely completion of assigned tasks.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or 1–3 years of relevant accounting or financial experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency in general ledger reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable processes, and the preparation of journal entries.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to use functions such as VLOOKUP, pivot tables, and basic formulas to support data analysis and reporting.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, with strong time management and organizational skills to effectively prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Proven problem-solving and analytical abilities, with strong communication skills to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively while maintaining a high level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Qualifications
