Accounting Assistant
Responsibilities
- Entering and depositing rent checks
- Sorting and scanning mail
- Sending rent increases
- Making monthly property tax reports
- Sending daily Hiver emails
- Setting up and maintaining check scanners
- Printing and mailing Security deposit refunds
- Performing post office runs for Certified Mail
- Handling ledger adjustments
- Sending Welcome Letters
- Processing Rent Board Registry
- Making sure all housing payments are directed to the correct bank account
Requirements
- Ace in Accounting, Finance, or related field with an Associate's or Bachelor's degree
- Prior accounting or administrative experience preferred
- Comfortable with basic accounting concepts and numbers
- Experience with accounting software, especially AppFolio
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Excel and general computer skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively

About the role
We are looking for a dedicated and resourceful Accounting Assistant who embodies 2B Living’s core values. The role involves supporting the accounting team with daily financial tasks, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the department.
Qualifications
While not mandatory, prior accounting or administrative experience is preferred. An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is also preferred.
Skills
The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of accounting concepts and be comfortable working with numbers. Experience with accounting software, particularly AppFolio, is beneficial but not required. Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational and time management skills, and excellent written and verbal communication are essential.
