Duties
- Assume responsibility for specific reconcilements, reports, or audits to ensure proper accountability, proper payment of periodic interest and principal through the Bureau's systems, and to provide accurate reporting to Fiscal Accounting Office
- Prepare daily customer payments originating from various savings instrument systems
- Perform mandated internal audits to ensure proper internal controls
- Perform analyses and develop comprehensive reports to provide recommendations to Bureau management concerning current and future problems on the financial implications of proposed actions
- Develop and implement new accounting procedures and operating manuals, based upon approved changes

Specialized Experience
- Operating, maintaining, or monitoring financial management systems
- Interpreting and applying accounting policies and procedures to independently conduct special studies, projects, or assignments, with the objective of providing recommendations to management for decision-making purposes
Education
- Basic Requirements for Accountant 0510 Series: Degree: accounting; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting.
- Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in accounting, or an equivalent combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge.
