Account Manager II - CFA (Remote)

Candidates must live in the MD, DC, or Northern VA area in order to travel into the offices and for client meetings and staff meetings.

About the Role

This position is a critical resource within the Account Management Team, providing consultative expertise on benefits, products, and capabilities. The Account Manager promotes new and existing products or services through tactical marketing and communication initiatives, directly responsible for aggressively growing group enrollment by marketing to the client's associate base. This role builds and maintains effective long-term relationships with key senior-level decision makers and influencers, creating demand for the organization's products and services.

Responsibilities

• Lead and conduct employer and employee educational and communication meetings independently, traveling to in-state and out-of-state locations to meet client requirements.
• Use discretionary judgment to deliver a superior client experience.
• Serve as an integral partner of the account management team for new and renewing business, contributing to sales strategy and benefit design modeling.
• Autonomously resolve complex client requirements and issues using benefit expertise, business acumen, and knowledge base.
• Build and maintain strong, cultivated relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor.
• Develop renewal event strategies, including goal setting, timeframe analysis, and implementation requirements to ensure successful setup of new products and services.
• Consult with internal and external resources to oversee resolution of escalated issues, assessing risk and determining impact to the company and client.
• Collaborate with clients to determine ultimate resolution for global or isolated issues.
• Facilitate benefit analysis and development of structured programs to engage members, including open enrollment strategy, wellness services deployment, and implementation oversight.
• Disseminate understanding of legal developments and regulatory changes related to insurance carriers, Federal, and State laws to ensure compliant administration of benefit programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree OR, in lieu of a degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience.
• Current active health and life license for the jurisdictions of Maryland, DC, and Virginia (required upon hire).
• 3 years of experience in sales, sales support, implementation, benefit administration, or Account Management.
• Superior communication skills and knowledge of employee benefits issues.
• Ability to problem-solve, strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, responsive, and self-motivated.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel; basic working knowledge of PowerPoint preferred.
• Knowledge of insurance information, technology, and new legislation.
• Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple customer service demands from internal and external customers.
• Must provide positive customer service, even in demanding or challenging situations.

Travel Requirements

20% travel is required throughout the year for local and nationwide client meetings. During Q4, travel may increase to up to 60% of work time.

Pay

Salary range: $52,000 – $84,500. The disclosed range considers factors such as scope and responsibilities, candidate experience, education/training, internal peer equity, and market considerations. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range.
