Account Manager - Business Development/Outside Sales
Weekly work hours: 40. FLSA status: Exempt.
About the role
The Account Manager of Business Development leads a high-performing team in building relationships with businesses that need corporate training or customized business solutions. The team assists businesses with talent acquisition and development, managing the entire process from lead identification to needs analysis, proposal creation, and deal closure. This position reports to the Sr. Director of Corporate Relations.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Business Development teammates to serve the needs of businesses in Dallas County and the Dallas College community.
- Execute workflows and work systems within the assigned team to ensure accuracy, reliability, and continuity of operations.
- Meet unit performance metrics and execute continuous improvement plans.
- Participate in regular workforce business development team meetings.
- Interpret data and generate reports as required by supervisor.
- Develop and generate professional sales proposals, dashboard reports, and key presentation materials to produce client-centric outcomes.
- Use Salesforce.com daily to record client engagement, business development, pipeline reports, and proposals.
- Develop and execute an ongoing personal professional development plan.
- Engage in continuous professional development to foster increased skills and competencies.
- Provide effective supervision and leadership to a team of coordinators of business development.
- Support the ongoing professional growth of the supervised team.
- Complete a minimum of 19 professional development hours per academic year (people leaders require an additional 16 hours of leadership development).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- For people leader roles: Exercise discretion in recruitment, hiring, mentoring, coaching, development, and termination of staff, aligning with organizational goals and budgetary constraints.
- Drive high performance by administering the performance management process, setting clear expectations, conducting evaluations, and enhancing employee engagement and retention.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent plus three (3) years of relevant professional sales experience with demonstrated results.
- 2-3 years’ experience supervising a small team of 3-5 individuals.
- Current and valid Texas driver’s license required for offsite travel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree.
- Bilingual or multilingual preferred.

Pay
Salary minimum: $54,537 annually (Staff Range N05).
