Account Manager
Job Overview
Komatsu is seeking a customer-focused Account Manager to support some of our most established and strategic mining customers throughout Southern California in the Mojave region. This role is responsible for developing strong customer relationships, identifying equipment, parts, and service opportunities, and serving as the primary liaison between customers and internal support teams. The Account Manager will oversee key mining accounts, including large surface mining operations, while partnering closely with service, parts, and technical experts to ensure exceptional customer support and business growth. The successful candidate will have a strong technical aptitude, consultative sales skills, and the ability to build long-term partnerships in the mining or heavy equipment industry.
Responsibilities
- Manage and grow relationships with assigned mining and construction customers
- Promote and sell Komatsu equipment, parts, service solutions, and customer support programs
- Serve as the primary point of contact for strategic customer accounts
- Collaborate with Service Managers, Product Support teams, and Technical Specialists to deliver customer solutions
- Oversee warranty-related issues, product concerns, returns, and service coordination
- Identify opportunities to expand equipment, parts, and service business within existing accounts
- Conduct regular customer site visits and maintain a strong field presence
- Provide customer feedback and market intelligence to internal stakeholders
- Support customers through equipment deliveries, fleet lifecycle planning, and ongoing operational needs
- Assist in resolving customer concerns and objections through value-based selling and relationship management
- Partner with mining subject matter experts and leadership to support large shovel and surface mining operations when needed
Qualifications
- Experience: 3-5 years in Account Management, Sales, Project Management, and/or Product Management in OEM and mining environments with extensive customer interaction. Prior experience in establishing alliances or partnerships, building a client base, achieving sales goals, working in a team environment, fostering internal & cross-functional relationships, contract negotiation, executing change without direct authority, and business planning activities
- Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills – proficient in MS Office, SalesForce.com, Project Management tools, and presentation tools; business and financial acumen – understands commodity economies & industry trends / business drivers; professional interpersonal skills; business planning capability; demonstrated implementation skills; strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills, considers the big-picture when making decisions; negotiation / dispute resolution; team building, coordination across multiple departments and companies
Pay
$90,000 – $115,000 annually. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
