Promote medical equipment and supply products to assigned accounts in the Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota territory. Develop and maintain productive relationships with doctors, hospitals, medical schools, retail companies, and care facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Make sales presentations and demonstrate product features to prospective customers.
  • Utilize consultative questioning to understand customer needs and suggest appropriate equipment or products.
  • Prospect for new accounts and seek opportunities to increase existing ones; conduct regular sales calls in person or by phone.
  • Negotiate price and credit terms; finalize sales contracts within company guidelines.
  • Meet or exceed established quotas and sales goals.
  • Forecast long-range account sales and product needs; communicate information regularly to management.
  • Enter account, contact, and customer sales information into the database.
  • Establish and maintain good business relations with customers and external trade contacts.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction with company products and services; obtain feedback to improve offerings.
  • Resolve customer requests, complaints, and delivery problems.
  • Promote goodwill and convey a positive image of the company.
  • Promote products and services at trade shows.
  • Set sales goals in accordance with company objectives; track progress toward goals.
  • Provide assistance to area personnel as needed.
  • Keep management informed of area activities, competitive conditions, and significant problems.
  • Complete required sales reports and expense records accurately and promptly.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes.

New Hire Account Executives are evaluated primarily on the achievement of Management by Objectives (MBOs) as set forth in the New Hire Sales Compensation Plan. Established Account Executives are evaluated primarily on the achievement of assigned quotas and the ability to identify and establish new business growth opportunities in the assigned territory.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in business, marketing, or related discipline; relevant education and experience accepted in lieu of degree.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • 6+ years of experience in medical sales, preferably selling capital equipment into hospitals.
  • Good knowledge of medical equipment products and understanding of competitive conditions.
  • Knowledge of hospital operations, buying processes, and clinical and financial goals.
  • Knowledge of sales and marketing techniques and principles.
  • Strong interpersonal, public relations, and oral presentation skills.
  • Well organized with problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient at using computer applications on a standard laptop.
  • High degree of personal motivation to achieve goals.
  • Able to communicate verbally and in writing, and to receive and understand verbal and written instructions in English.
  • Able to work effectively both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
  • Must reside in assigned territory of MN, ND, or SD.
  • Approximately 80% travel required.
  • Must be able to perform duties in healthcare facilities and meet vendor credentialing requirements, including providing proof of vaccinations (including for COVID-19) and related personal medical information.
  • Physical requirements include reaching, bending, stooping, squatting, crawling, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying up to 25 pounds, finger dexterity, repetitive motions, standing, walking, sitting, hearing, visual acuity, and color vision.

Pay

Compensation includes a $90,000 base salary, quarterly MBOs, and the opportunity to earn a variable incentive via commissions earned above the value of earned MBOs.

Schedule

Full-time position with regular hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday–Friday. Holiday, weekend, and evening work may be required based on business needs.
