About the role
Discovery Education is seeking an Account Executive - Inside Sales to sell its award-winning online educational products and services. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of sales experience, particularly in telesales, and possess exceptional interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills.
Responsibilities
- Create and deepen relationships with key decision-makers within your territory.
- Understand the needs of districts/schools to match and sell to our suite of online educational products and services via telephone.
- Adhere to sales strategy for all accounts within your territory.
- Build and maintain a thorough understanding of local markets, including demographics, education trends, and funding.
- Share insights from Discovery Education’s overall goals and strategic vision with customers.
- Meet and exceed monthly new business sales appointments, sales targets, and KPIs.
- Efficiently conduct outbound calls and written correspondence, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of records within Salesforce and across internal systems.
- Partner with marketing on localized campaigns and targeted acquisition strategies.
- Create agreements to establish pricing rate cards and guidelines.
- Work with Sales Operations to ensure the opportunity is built correctly and brought seamlessly through the contracting process.
- Implement pre and post-sales processes to ensure a smooth transition, activation, and training of Discovery Education products and services.
- Work with Marketing to properly merchandise key activities in the territory to decision-makers.
- Speak intelligently about topics and trends affecting education, such as funding, technology, and legislation.
- Use free events, resources, and community opportunities as prospecting touchpoints and value-adds to a relationship with Discovery Education.
Requirements
- A strong passion for the power of educational technology.
- Experience in selling complex products in a consultative manner via phone.
- Excellent negotiation and closing skills.
- Bachelor's degree preferred or an equivalent combination of skills, training, and experience.
- Education industry experience, either public or private.
- Ambitious, dedicated, and passionate individual with a strong desire to achieve.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and customer focus skills.
- Excellent prioritization, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work as a team and in a fast-paced environment.
- A “can do” attitude to everyday challenges, motivated, and target-driven.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

Pay
The hiring range for this position is between $57,500 - $62,000 annually, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. Additionally, this position is eligible for a Variable Target.
Schedule
This role will sit in our Charlotte HQs with a hybrid work schedule.
