About the role
The Academic Coach serves as an academic liaison for students, helping them identify academic and career goals, select appropriate courses, and plan for degree attainment. This role involves managing small, routine projects and working closely with students to support their academic success.
Responsibilities
- Establish one-on-one relationships with students to support academic success and foster a sense of belonging.
- Provide academic coaching and advocacy, assess academic needs, and assist with time management, organization, and study skills.
- Monitor student performance and implement academic resources or programs to resolve issues.
- Develop and lead workshops and small group activities addressing issues that negatively impact academic success.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, with a genuine interest in coaching and mentoring students.
- Demonstrated ability to build rapport and trust with a diverse student population.
- Strong organizational skills and follow-through in managing an active caseload.
- A proactive, solution-focused approach to problem-solving and supporting students through setbacks.
Physical Effort
Little physical effort required. Duties are primarily sedentary. May be required to move objects up to 25 pounds occasionally.

Work Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. On-campus: Teams that work on campus, in an office, or in a lab.
Hiring Range
$17.95 - $20.50/hr.
