Academic Coach

Qualifications

• Appropriate Georgia Teaching Certification
• Minimum of a T-4 certification; T-5 or higher certification preferred
• Minimum of three years successful teaching experience
• Proven ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with administration, faculty, and staff

Responsibilities

• Possess expertise in content, pedagogy, professional learning and school improvement initiatives, including a thorough knowledge of state curriculum standards
• Participate in and redeliver state, system, and school level training
• Conduct informal observations in classrooms and provide appropriate feedback
• Observe and model appropriate teaching strategies
• Organize and attend grade level Professional Learning Communities (PLCs)
• Analyze and disaggregate data to support instruction and student achievement
• Communicate with administration regarding teacher professional learning needs
• Participate in required faculty meetings
• Build a collegial climate with faculty/staff, students, and parents
• Complete reports in a timely manner
• Scaffold the development of an effective assessment system
• Support high leverage and evidence based practices
• Maintain knowledge of research-based teaching/learning strategies and materials
• Maintain standards of confidentiality
