Academic Coach
Position Summary
The Academic Coach provides academic, social, and emotional learning support to Upward Bound scholars. The primary function is to guide students towards achieving their academic goals through individual or group sessions, developing personalized academic success plans, and implementing effective time management, organization, and study skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide academic coaching through individual or group sessions
- Assess students’ learning needs and develop academic success plans
- Instruct students on individualized academic strategies including time management, goal setting, note-taking, test-taking, and reading/writing skills
- Motivate students to practice self-regulation, self-advocacy, and take ownership of their academic success
- Help students identify, develop, and implement learning strategies and study skills customized to specific disciplines and course materials
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Experience in the Educational field
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Salary
$43.70 hourly
