About the Role

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Division of Emergency Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for several Associate Professor positions in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in working within a large, complex medical system. Ideal candidates should have comfort and flexibility in caring for a wide range of pediatric diagnoses, along with effective communication skills and the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.

Clinical employment opportunities are also available at affiliate institutions Virtua Voorhees in Southern New Jersey and the new King of Prussia Center in King of Prussia, PA. These positions include an academic appointment and clinical shifts at the CHOP Emergency Department. The distribution of clinical activity at CHOP and the designated affiliate is negotiable and tailored to the applicant’s interests, though significant time away from CHOP Main should be expected.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in an Emergency Department with an annual volume of 100,000 visits.
  • Participate in the clinical education of medical students, residents, and fellows as a member of the Division of Emergency Medicine.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of current ED studies and participate in patient enrollment as needed.

Requirements

  • M.D. or equivalent degree.
  • Certification in Pediatric Emergency Medicine or Board-Eligible status.
