Academic Advisor I

Duties And Responsibilities

• Provide accurate advising/coaching as it relates to student curriculum, degree planning, and institutional policy and procedure.
• Advise students in their consideration of educational goals by relating interests, skills, abilities, values to careers, the world of work, and the nature and purpose of higher education.
• Track and report on student progress utilizing relevant platforms (Ex: Student Information Platform (SIP), Dashboards, and/or CRM).
• Advocate for students by making referrals to Excelsior University services (e.g., career readiness, VA/financial aid, tutoring, OWL, COMPsych), and other learning support services.
• Contribute to unit and university-wide committees and workgroups as needed.
• Engage in Professional Development that addresses your individual professional growth as well as the needs of the Advising Center.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with a minimum of two (2) years of experience in higher education or teaching, or a Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with relevant professional experience.
• The hiring salary range for this position is $46,000.00 - $50,000.00.

Schedule

Core hours are 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, including a 1-hour lunch, for a 37.5-hour week.
