94F Special Electronic Devices Repairer
About the Role
The Army National Guard relies on Special Electronic Devices Repairers to maintain and ensure the operational readiness of sophisticated equipment, including night vision devices, electronic distance and azimuth-orienting tools, battlefield illumination devices, and nuclear, biological, and chemical warning and measuring instruments.
Responsibilities
- Test instruments, navigational controls, and simulators
- Read and interpret technical diagrams and manuals
- Replace defective parts and components
- Enforce quality control measures
- Troubleshoot and inspect equipment
- Supervise and train other Soldiers (advanced level)
Skills
- Interest in mathematics and problem-solving
- Experience or aptitude for electronic equipment repair
- Strong attention to detail
Civilian Career Opportunities
Training and experience in this role can lead to civilian careers with organizations such as the Federal Aviation Administration, NASA, or the National Weather Service.
Training
- Basic Training: 10 weeks, covering fundamental Soldiering skills
- Advanced Individual Training: 25 weeks, combining classroom instruction, hands-on equipment practice, and field training under simulated combat conditions
You will earn a regular paycheck and qualify for tuition assistance while training.

Most non-prior service candidates will earn between $200 and $250 per drill weekend, subject to change.
Requirements
- Military enlistment in the Army National Guard
- Must be at least a junior in high school, or hold a high school diploma or GED certificate
- Must be between the ages of 17 and 35
- Must pass a physical exam and meet legal and moral standards
