About the role
This open position is in a highly behavioral residential home setting. The Direct Support Professional (DSP) is responsible for advocating and supporting adults 22 and over with intellectual and developmental disabilities by empowering them to be as active in their lives as they can. Their support needs include, but are not limited to, household maintenance, meal prep, shopping, bathing, toileting, dressing, teeth brushing, etc., so that they may always look and feel their best. The DSP may be asked to assist with medical appointments, banking, community outings, administering medications, following Behavior Support Plans, Individual Support Plans and goals, and following medical guidelines that are in place.
Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with household maintenance, meal preparation, shopping, bathing, toileting, dressing, and teeth brushing
- Support individuals to attend medical appointments, banking, and community outings
- Administer medications as directed
- Follow Behavior Support Plans, Individual Support Plans, and goals
- Follow medical guidelines and maintain certifications
- Safely evacuate individuals from the home in the event of an emergency
- Handle job-related duties in compliance with Agency policies and DDS regulations/policies
Requirements
- Must be 21+ with reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience working in a residential setting with highly behavioral individuals
- Ability to speak, read, and write in fluent English

Training
- Paid New Employee Orientation
- Paid CPR/First Aid, PABC, Defensive Driving, and Medication Administration Program (MAP)
- Program and person-specific training at the individuals’ home

Pay
$17.50–$19.00 per hour
Schedule
Part Time: 10 hours per week; Friday 10 p.m.–8 a.m.
