About the role
The role involves managing and supervising multiple crews in solar photovoltaic construction, including electrical and civil components. The successful candidate will lead and support safety-related processes and programs.
Responsibilities
- Perform all duties and accountabilities of craft workers under supervision.
- Engage with work teams to ensure zero injuries.
- Monitor crews for heat-related injuries and stop work if necessary.
- Create and execute a 3-week schedule and monitor the foreman’s one-week schedule.
- Review and approve crew timecards for correct hours and phase coding.
- Assist in leading incident investigations and review accidents with employees.
- Lead daily pre-job safety planning and identify safety hazards.
- Communicate with supervisors to ensure adequate supplies of tools, materials, and equipment are available.
- Prepare and monitor work progress against the project master schedule.
- Complete performance reviews for subordinates according to Craft Performance Assessment guidelines.
- Ensure employees produce quality work, meeting requirements of plans, specifications, and industry standards.
- Inspect subordinate’s work for compliance with contract plans, specifications, and industry standards.
- Verify locations in the field using drawings/maps.
- Complete daily equipment inspections for equipment being utilized.
- Delegate and communicate safety concerns, work scope, plans, budgeted man-hours, and schedules to foremen.
- Prepare daily reports and review productivity rates with foremen.
Requirements
- Working experience as a Solar Foreman and Solar Technician.
- Strong working knowledge of solar photovoltaic construction and PV systems.
- Proficiency in scheduling, material control, unit man-hour performance, estimating fundamentals, and job cost management.
- Ability to understand and follow directions.
- At least 18 years of age.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Qualifications
- NCCER Solar Photovoltaic Installer certification.
- NCCER Electrician certification.
- NCCER Concrete Finishing certification.
- NCCER Carpenter certification.
Skills
- Proficient in scheduling and material control.
- Knowledgeable in estimating fundamentals and job cost management.
- Ability to create and execute a 3-week schedule.
- Experience in leading incident investigations and accident prevention.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to understand and follow directions.

- Understanding of safety rules and regulations.

Pay
Salary range: $70,000 - $90,000 annually.
