About the role
The successful candidate will lead and manage a team of solar photovoltaic construction workers, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with all relevant plans, specifications, and industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Conduct tool box meetings and implement safety measures
- Communicate safety concerns, work scope, plans, and schedules to the crews
- Ensure daily STA is completed prior to work start
- Lead and support all safety related processes and programs as requested
- Engage with work team to achieve zero injuries
- Monitor crews for heat-related injuries and stop work if necessary
- Create and execute a one-week schedule
- Set and execute crew goals based on project unit rates
- Complete timecards for correct hours and phase coding
- Report all accidents and near misses to supervisor
- Participate in investigation process as needed
- Review accidents and causes with employees
- Hold crews accountable for safe working behaviors and conditions
- Identify safety hazards and take corrective action
- Ensure construction equipment is correctly operated, maintained, and inspected
- Complete performance reviews of craft workers according to CPA Guidelines
- Ensure subordinates are qualified to perform their work
Requirements
- Previous experience as a supervisor
- One or more of the following certifications: NCCER Solar Photovoltaic Installer, NCCER Electrician, NCCER Concrete Finishing, NCCER Carpenter
- Working experience as a Solar Technician with a strong knowledge of solar photovoltaic construction
- Ability to understand and follow directions
- Working experience with all necessary tools
- At least 18 years of age
Qualifications
- Must have a thorough understanding of project plans, specifications, and schedule
- Must be able to understand and execute job work packages
- Must be able to plan and communicate with supervisor to ensure adequate supplies are available
- Must be able to perform task planning and inspect installations daily
- Must be able to identify and address problems, inaccuracies, and cost-saving measures
- Must be able to conduct daily equipment inspections
Skills
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers and fractions
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to consult with supervisor and HR on issues
- Ability to provide on-the-job training to crew members
- Understanding of the site map and location of work areas
- Ability to perform task planning and ensure correct construction procedures are followed

Pay
Salary range: $75,000 - $90,000 annually
Schedule
Full-time position with potential for overtime
