Schedule

Alternating weekly schedule:

  • Week A: Monday, Tuesday (off Wednesday), Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday
  • Week B: Monday (off Tuesday), Wednesday, Thursday (off Friday, Saturday, Sunday)

Hours: 3:00 PM – 1:00 AM. Additional hours may be required due to business demands.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, physical structures, pipe, and electrical systems in commercial or industrial establishments.
  • Coordinate with team members to diagnose problems and repair equipment.
  • Visually inspect and test machinery and equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment as required.
  • Listen for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction.
  • Dismantle defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts.
  • Repair equipment breakdowns in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
  • Install and repair electrical apparatus, such as transformers and wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
  • Repair and maintain the physical structure of the establishment.
  • Learn and use the in-house CMMS software system.
  • Operate motor vehicles, including a forklift (must have a current forklift license or obtain one within 90 days of hire).
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must complete a background check, pre-employment drug screen, and pre-placement physical screening.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  • One to three months of related mechanical experience and/or training.
  • Ability to work with latex gloves, airborne seasoning, cardboard dust, cleaning solutions, and hot water.
  • Ability to work in a noisy and fast-paced environment.
  • Good balance on slippery surfaces.
  • Sustain concentration for up to 3 hours at a time.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must pass a job-related assessment with a score of 70% or better.
  • Must possess a stable work history with good references.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have a score between 150 and 169 on the Evaluation scale (based on attendance, performance, and other qualities).
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and speak English.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to interpret graphs, compute rates, ratios, and percents.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Knowledge of PLC technology and Industrial Electronics is preferred.
  • Strong mechanical and/or electrical skills.
  • Knowledge of and ability to operate hand and power tools.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with maintenance and production personnel.
  • Ability to occasionally work within tight time constraints.
