About the role

The Mechanical Technician - HVAC position at Central State Hospital is responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining all HVAC controls, machinery, fixtures, and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Inspects, repairs, and maintains HVAC controls, machinery, fixtures, and equipment including electrical controls, refrigerant piping, valves, connections, fittings, and couplings.
• Cuts and threads pipe and makes pipe and electrical connections.
• De-scales tubing.
• Performs general maintenance tasks such as plumbing, carpentry, flooring installation and repair, ceiling tile installation and repair, locksmith services, and landscaping.
• Works overtime and emergency situations as needed.

Requirements

• Journeyman HVAC License or Associates Degree in HVAC/refrigeration.
• Valid Driver's License.
• High school diploma or GED.
• 3 years experience in automation HVAC controls or Refrigeration repairs.
• Knowledge in refrigeration systems or HVAC controls.
• Knowledge of plumbing, electric, and carpentry.
