Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair a wide variety of equipment such as heating, cooling, stamping, bending, forming, welding equipment and/or electrical systems.
  • Install or assist in installation or relocation of equipment.
  • Perform troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance work on 277V and/or 480V electrical systems.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance activities, check equipment function and operation and recommend required maintenance action.
  • Aid in training departmental employees.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot PLC systems using handheld programmers, laptops, or other diagnostic devices.
  • Use pneumatic tools, grease gun, painting tools, forklift, multi-meters and common hand tools.
  • Follow safety rules and keep work area in clean and orderly condition.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a pre-employment written test is required as part of the selection process.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic, Industrial Mechanic, or similar role in a manufacturing, industrial, or plant environment.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, bearings, conveyors, pumps, motors, valves, and power transmission equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain production equipment and facility systems with minimal supervision.
  • Experience performing preventive maintenance, equipment inspections, adjustments, alignments, and mechanical rebuilds.
  • Working knowledge of electrical systems, including troubleshooting of motors, sensors, controls, and related equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, equipment manuals, technical drawings, and work orders.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, grease gun, and diagnostic equipment safely and effectively.
  • Strong understanding of safety practices, lockout/tagout procedures, OSHA requirements, and safe work practices in an industrial environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, prioritize maintenance needs, and respond quickly to equipment breakdowns.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, or off-shift hours as needed to support production and maintenance requirements.
  • Must be able to lift, climb, bend, stand for extended periods, and work in industrial conditions as required.

Additional Information

  • This position is part of the bargaining unit and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
  • Base Hourly Pay: $34.89/hr; 2nd shift premium as applicable: $1.00/hr.
