About the role
The Mobile Crisis Outreach Team (MCOT) Case Worker provides services in-person and via tele/video in Bastrop, Fayette, and Lee Counties. Services include crisis intervention, screening, referral, relapse prevention, and follow-up services such as case management, individual and group skills training, Person-Centered Recovery Planning, supported housing/employment, and discharge planning. The position collaborates with law enforcement, the medical community, schools, families, and social service agencies to assist persons in crisis.
Responsibilities
- Dispatch to various community locations (schools, emergency rooms, homes, and BTCS clinics) to provide crisis intervention.
- Provide crisis triage and intervention services as needed.
- Work collaboratively with law enforcement, medical professionals, schools, families, and social service agencies.
- Conduct Person-Centered Recovery Planning.
- Offer individual and group skills training.
- Assist with case management and supported housing/employment.
- Perform discharge planning.
Requirements
- Minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a human services field, comprehensive knowledge of mental health diagnoses, two years of case management experience, valid Texas Driver's License.
- Preferred qualifications: Master’s degree, clinical licensure in counseling, social work, or a related field, bilingual in ASL or Spanish, experience in concurrent documentation.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a human services field.
- Comprehensive knowledge of mental health diagnoses.
- Ability to work as a member of a team within a fast-paced, recovery-focused environment.
- Two years of case management experience.
- Skills and experience using integrated computer database programs to access files and document services.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work assignments.
- Valid Texas Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree.
- Pursuing clinical licensure in counseling, social work, or a related field.
- Bilingual in ASL or Spanish.
- Experience in providing concurrent documentation.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of principles, methods, techniques, and practices of working with individuals experiencing a mental health, substance use, and/or developmental crisis.
- Effective communication skills with diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
- Proficiency in integrated computer database programs.
