About the role

Temporary, full‑time (1.00 FTE) Grade 7 CORE & Other Teacher position at Skeena Middle School in Terrace, BC. The Coast Mountains School District serves approximately 4,100 students across nineteen schools, includes three alternate programs and a trades learning centre, and covers a geographic area comparable to Finland. The district encompasses the traditional territories of the Gitxsan, Haisla, Nisga’a and Tsimshian nations, with communities in Hazeltons, Kitimat, Stewart, Terrace and Thornhill.

Qualifications

• Valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate (or eligible for)
• Experience teaching students at all grade levels
• Working knowledge of the learning standards, curricular competencies, and core competencies within the revised BC Curriculum
• Ability to work as part of a team to develop and implement individualized learning plans for academic, social and emotional learning difficulties
• Demonstrated strong classroom management skills
• Ability to relate well with students, parents and staff members
• Committed to following the goals and strategies outlined in the school and district framework for enhanced learning
• Legally eligible to work in Canada

Pay

• Salary grid: $63,513 – $117,454 (based on 1.00 FTE) in accordance with the collective agreement
• Relocation allowance: $1,000 – $5,000 for teachers from other areas (conditions may apply)
• Recruitment and Retention allowance: $3,500 paid over 10 months of the school year (based on FTE)
• Isolation Allowances (paid over 10 months): Hazelton $1,287; Kitwanga $1,528; Stewart $4,824

Schedule

Position term: October 8, 2026 to June 30, 2027 (or earlier if the incumbent returns).
