#250.1 - Temporary, Full-time (1.00 FTE) Grade 7 CORE & Other Teacher

About the role

The Coast Mountains School District 82 serves approximately 4,100 students across nineteen schools in northwest British Columbia, encompassing the traditional territories of the Gitxsan, Haisla, Nisga’a and Tsimshian nations. The district covers an area comparable to Finland and employs about 800 staff with an operating budget of roughly $66 million. The position is at Skeena Middle School in Terrace, BC.

Temporary, full‑time (1.00 FTE) Grade 7 CORE & Other Teacher. Contract runs from October 8, 2026 to June 30, 2027 (or until the incumbent returns, whichever is earlier).

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team to develop and implement individualized learning plans for students with academic, social and emotional learning difficulties.
• Demonstrate strong classroom management skills.
• Relate well with students, parents and staff members.
• Follow the goals and strategies outlined in the school and district framework for enhanced learning.

Requirements

• Valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate (or eligible for).
• Experience teaching students at all grade levels.
• Working knowledge of the learning standards, curricular competencies, and core competencies within the revised BC Curriculum.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada.
• Submit a cover letter, résumé, three professional references, verification of qualifications (BC Teacher Certificate) or eligibility to obtain, and a Teacher Qualification Card.
