26-13062 Network Technician, Night Shift B

Responsibilities

• Proactive network monitoring and first level of support to network incidents for night shift.
• Proactively work with Network Engineers and Cable Technicians on network incident prevention and service restoration.
• Support the Network Team with lab setups, device OS upgrades, new device configuration, network audits, and other small projects as needed.
• Perform network equipment configuration, and replace faulty network equipment under Network Team's guidance.
• Participate as a buddy check for network engineers during night change windows.
• Create vendor support cases, and follow up to process RMAs.
• Provide occasional extended hours support during high projects season, and during site maintenance day.
• Respond to incidents within SLA.
• Follow SOPs, create reports as requested, update management systems, and effectively communicate with team members and management.
• Create daily pass down report.

Requirements

• A Highschool Diploma or Equivalent.
• 2+ years of Network Help Desk or Network Technician experience.
• Cisco Certified Technician (CCT) or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Comp TIA A+ certification.
• Experience with VLANs, Subnetting, IP Addresses, Ethernet Cables, Fiber Optic Cables, SSH, Telnet, Traceroute, Optical Transceivers, Hubs, Switches.
• Must live within 1 hour of Taylor, Texas.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio.
• Ability to work well within a team and mentoring other network technicians.
• Strong sense of responsibility.
• Able to occasionally lift equipment up to 40lb.
• Able to occasionally wear a complete cleanroom smock inside an electronic semiconductor facility.
