2028-2029 PET/Molecular Imaging Fellow

About the role

This appointment will be in the 2028–2029 PET/Molecular Imaging Fellowship Program receiving advanced training in PET/Molecular Imaging for diagnosis and treatment monitoring. The position will often supervise and teach residents and medical students. There is the possibility that this position could be extended for one additional year.

Responsibilities

• Function as a trainee for advanced PET CT/PET MR, participating in reading sessions and molecular imaging during the first six months.
• Undertake research time in PET and molecular imaging throughout the fellowship.
• In the second six months, optional independent clinical activity may include general clinical PET examinations using routine radiopharmaceuticals, contingent on achieving proficiency in reading these studies during the first six months.
• Develop an academic career in molecular imaging, learn research methodology, and investigate new molecular imaging agents.
• Provide independent clinical services for the Department of Radiology as necessary and as assigned by the Department Chair, which may occur at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics, Unitypoint Health–Meriter Hospital, and/or other radiology outpatient or outreach sites.

Requirements

• MD, DO, or equivalent terminal degree.
• Board certification or eligibility in Diagnostic Radiology through the American Board of Radiology (ABR) and/or Nuclear Medicine through the American Board of Nuclear Medicine (ABNM) by the start date.
• State of Wisconsin medical license by the start date.

Compensation

The starting full-time salary for the position is $90,508.

Schedule

• Full- or part-time appointment at 50%–100% FTE.
• Terminal, 12-month appointment.
• Position is for one year with the possibility of extending for an additional year.
• Onsite work at a designated campus work location.

• This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations; the selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver check under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years.
