About the role

This appointment will be in the 2028–2029 Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Fellowship Program receiving advanced training in MRI. The position will function as a trainee when performing cardiac MR interpretation and image-guided interventions (if performed during an elective). The fellowship is housed in the cardiovascular imaging section and focuses on providing advanced MRI and cardiovascular experience with emphasis on techniques such as 4D Flow imaging for the heart, aorta, liver, and kidneys. The position will often supervise and teach residents and medical students. Outside of the fellowship, the role includes providing independent clinical services for the Department of Radiology as necessary and as assigned by the Department Chair. Work may be carried out at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics, UnityPoint Health–Meriter Hospital, and/or other radiology outpatient or outreach sites and extended coverage areas as needed.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform advanced cardiac MR interpretation and image-guided interventions (when applicable)
  • Apply advanced MR techniques such as 4D Flow imaging for the heart, aorta, liver, and kidneys
  • Supervise and teach residents and medical students
  • Provide independent clinical services for the Department of Radiology as assigned
  • Work onsite at University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics, UnityPoint Health–Meriter Hospital, and/or other radiology sites as required

Term and schedule

Terminal, 12-month appointment with the possibility of extending for an additional year. Position requires onsite work at a designated campus location.

Required qualifications

  • 4-year residency in Radiology
  • MD, DO, or equivalent terminal degree
  • State of Wisconsin medical license by start date
  • Board eligible or board certified by the American Board of Radiology by start date

Additional requirements

The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial caregiver background check under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and every four years. This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations.

Compensation

The starting full-time salary for the position is $90,508.
