About the Program

G.Future is a 12-month leadership development program designed to develop future leaders for Gerdau. Participants engage in on-the-job learning, classroom training, coaching, and ongoing mentorship from various leaders to shape them into future managerial and technical leaders.

Program Experiences

  • Solve large- and small-scale problems, including creating mechanical components/assembly drawings, proposing business methods to optimize product output, and redirecting process prioritization to improve production standards
  • Work as a leader managing strategic implementation for overall business goals
  • Participate in a mentorship program with a seasoned professional who facilitates integration, helps understand Gerdau's values and business culture, and provides technical knowledge and business vision
  • Visit customers and suppliers to gain in-depth knowledge of the business from beginning to end
  • Gain a holistic view and acumen of the industry by working with each level of Gerdau North America
  • Travel to various destinations throughout the US and Canada
  • Interact with other G.Futures from across North America while tackling the organization's biggest challenges
  • Grow managerial, interpersonal, analytical, and technical skills

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, Automation, Material Sciences/Metallurgy, Transportation, Management, Administration, or other applicable degree
  • Bachelor's graduate from within the past 3 years, or expected to graduate by Summer 2027
  • Record of high academic achievement (Minimum GPA 2.5, preferred GPA 3.0 or above)
  • Preference for degree-related internship experience
  • Maximum of 3 years full-time work experience
  • Well-rounded applicants with leadership roles in student organizations or extra-curricular activities
  • High learning agility and willingness to adapt and develop continuously
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring current or future sponsorship for employment
  • Ability to travel to various locations within the United States and Canada during the length of the program
