The BOLT (Building Opportunities & Learning Together) Intern Program is Kinder Morgan’s elite summer internship program. About the Role

This position will have a dual reporting relationship: Manager, Quality Control and Director, Engineering. The intern will be exposed to both operational and engineering aspects of our Terminal business, which includes both liquid and bulk commodity transportation.

Responsibilities

• Analysis and reporting of key operational data.
• Understanding and assisting in the development and implementation of capital projects.
• Recognize and promote ideas that provide a safer, more efficient, and cost-effective operation.
• Actively participate and champion efforts to continuously improve the safety of operations, including:
  • Safety committee participation
  • Safety inspections and audits
  • Compliance with policies and procedures
  • Tailgate meetings
  • Incident investigations and root cause analysis
  • Completion of action items
  • Safety incentive program
  • Measurement of key performance indicators
  • Development of continuous improvement initiatives
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Working toward a degree in Energy Management, Finance, Supply Chain, or Engineering.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability and desire to work in a team environment and to work independently.
• Technical writing ability.
• Engineering knowledge or skills.
• Entering Junior or Senior year of college.

Working Conditions

• Office environment and field work within the terminal.
• Travel within the Houston area may be required.
• Additional hours may be required to meet the needs of the region and its customers.
