About the role
Northrop Grumman is seeking a Vehicle Engineering Intern to join the Aeronautics Systems Intern Program. This position is located in Melbourne, FL or Saint Augustine, FL. The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Vehicle Engineering Directorate and work in a dynamic, people-focused environment, interacting with users, customers, and other developers.
As an intern, you’ll participate in a summer internship program to develop competencies in a variety of vehicle engineering specializations, which may include:
- Construct, troubleshoot, calibrate, adjust, test, and maintain equipment, components, devices, or systems
- Work from engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions
- Operate related equipment; conduct tests and report data in prescribed format
- Perform calibration and alignment checks; make adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed
- Prepare prescribed compounds and solutions
Requirements
- Enrolled full-time and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited college/university, graduating after August 2027
- Majoring in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) degree
- Available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for at least 10 weeks during summer 2027
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is required)
- Ability to obtain Program Special access within a reasonable period of time (U.S. citizenship is required)
Preferred Qualifications
- Overall cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher
- Previous internship/co-op experience
- Leadership and teamwork capabilities
- Strong interpersonal communication skills
- Involvement in professional, community, or extracurricular activities
Pay
Intern pay ranges:
- Undergraduate degrees (including graduating students planning on attending/enrolled in a full-time Master’s program): $18.50 to $33.50 per hour
- Master’s: $26.25 to $41.50 per hour
Pay rates are standardized and consider the anticipated graduation date, geographic cost of labor, and whether the internship is technical or administrative. Depending on the position, employees may also be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses.
