About the role
The Communication Sciences and Disorders Program in the Department of Communication Arts and Sciences is seeking to hire a pool of lecturers for the 2026-27 academic year. Positions are available as needed.
Responsibilities
- Teaching assignments are based upon qualifications of the individual and the needs of the department.
Requirements
The minimum education requirement for a lecturer appointment is a Masters degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or equivalent. CMSD 156 requires a Bachelor’s degree and teaching, cultural, and sign language experience. (ASHA certification and CA licensure are not required for this course.)
- Experience teaching or clinical experience in the subject area of interest.
- Currency in the field with an active California state license and ASHA certification of clinical competence in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Preference for candidates with experience working with diverse populations.

Pay
- Lecturer A/2 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $5,507 – $6,677 per month.
- Lecturer B/3 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $6,221 – $13,224 per month.
- Lecturer C/4 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $6,825 – $14,523 per month.
- Lecturer D/5 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $8,593 – $15,211 per month.
Schedule
- Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank.
