About the role
The Communication Sciences and Disorders Program in the Department of Communication Arts and Sciences is seeking to fill a pool of lecturers for the 2026-27 academic year. Positions are available as needed and appointments are temporary.
Responsibilities
- Teaching assignments are based upon qualifications and departmental needs.
Requirements
Minimum qualifications include a Master's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or equivalent. Preference is given to candidates with experience teaching or clinical experience in the subject area, currency in the field with an active California state license and ASHA certification of clinical competence in Speech-Language Pathology, and experience working with diverse populations.
Qualifications
- A Master's degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree and teaching, cultural, and sign language experience (ASHA certification and CA licensure are not required for this course).
- Experience teaching or clinical experience in the subject area of interest.
- Currency in the field with an active California state license and ASHA certification of clinical competence in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Experience working with diverse populations.

Pay
Lecturer A/2 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $5,507 – $6,677 per month
Lecturer B/3 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $6,221 – $13,224 per month
Lecturer C/4 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $6,825 – $14,523 per month
Lecturer D/5 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $8,593 – $15,211 per month
Schedule
Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank. The anticipated hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with education and experience.
