Responsibilities
- Operates duplicating equipment including standard off-set duplicating machines, photo-stat plate maker, electrostatic copier, computer to plate equipment and high speed copy machines.
- Operates peripheral equipment including drill press, electric and manual cutter, stitcher, perfect and glue binding machine, electric and vacuum collator, folding and envelope inserting equipment.
- Completes daily mailing to bulk mail center.
- Cleans duplicating equipment and makes adjustments, prepares and changes chemical solutions.
- Completes work orders, records and updates progress.
- Maintains print files, plates and related material.
- Maintains inventory of paper stock and other material; requisitions and stocks supplies as required.
- Place calls for service, mail pick-up, job delivery, and contact customers when needed.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities:
- Working knowledge of general office procedures.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to follow established safety practices, proper procedures, and care of equipment.
- Demonstrates an ability to minimize associated risks.
- Ability to understand the priorities, goals, and objectives of the department.
- Demonstrates a good understanding of the operations, and a common understanding of the department mission and vision.
- Ability to independently initiate, plan, and coordinate multiple projects ranging from the routine to the complex.
- Ability to independently prioritize own work and to identify and use appropriate materials, methods, and resources necessary to complete assignments and to maintain and manage inventories of materials and supplies.
- Excellent verbal and written ability to work collaboratively with customers, vendors, and departmental staff.
- Ability to effectively listen.

- Knowledge in full range of methods, techniques and current standards to operate and makes routine adjustments on duplicating equipment including standard off-set duplicating machines, photo-stat plate maker, color and high-speed copiers.
- Knowledge in full range of methods, techniques, and current standards used to operate peripheral equipment including drill press, electric and manual cutter, stitcher, binding machine, electric and manual collator, folding machines and mail inserting equipment.
- Knowledge of printing standards and printing industry best practices.
- Knowledge in the full range of methods, techniques and current standards used to operate a computer and output digital files to film, direct to plates, color digital printers, proofing devices, and/or high speed digital copiers.
- Ability to use a range of job-related software such as e-mail, word processing, database and spreadsheet applications, and on-line ordering software.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- One year of experience as a Duplicating Equipment Operator Trainee or equivalent.
