About the role
The Department of Biological Sciences at Sacramento State is one of the largest programs on campus, with approximately 1,600 undergraduate and 60 Master’s students, 32 permanent faculty, approximately 40 temporary faculty, and 13 technical and administrative support team members. Courses cover the range of biology, including entomology, evolution, microbiology, molecular biology, cellular biology, genetics, anatomy, physiology, ecology, and conservation biology.

Requirements
- A Master’s degree in a related field, or a Bachelor’s degree along with successful advancement to candidacy in a Doctoral program in a related field.
- Prior teaching experience in related fields preferred.
- Experience teaching related to the subject matter.
- Ability to teach both undergraduate and graduate courses.

Benefits
Initial appointments are typically for one semester, but occasionally academic year initial appointments are made. Appointments may be renewed based on department needs, funding, and performance.
Pay
- Lecturer A: $5,507 - $6,677
- Lecturer B: $6,221 - $13,224
- Lecturer C: $6,825 - $14,523
- Lecturer D: $8,593 - $15,211
