Pay

Minimum Salary: $4,000.00
Maximum Salary: $4,000.00

Requirements

• Athletic Coaching License, 7-12
• High School Diploma or Equivalency
• Must hold or have the ability to obtain an Athletic Coaching License from the New Mexico Public Education Department
• Must complete the Fundamentals of Coaching online exam offered through the New Mexico Activities Association
• Previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport (Major sports)

Responsibilities

• Organize and supervise a total sports program for 5th Grade Boys Basketball
• Instruct athletes in fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training to achieve individual and team success
• Demonstrate and instruct behaviors that foster socially acceptable character development, self-discipline, self-confidence, and pride of accomplishment
• Upgrade knowledge and skills through coaching clinics, observations, and consultation
• Provide practice support and advice to ensure team success during the sports season
• Teach and enforce rules and regulations of the sport
• Advise, coordinate, and support assistant coaches and middle school coaches in conjunction with the athletic director and respective principal

Qualifications

• Substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of basketball
• Ability to examine and implement new theories and procedures pertinent to coaching
• Serve as an appropriate role model for student athletes through instructions and actions

Schedule

Involves work on evenings and weekends. On-site attendance is mandatory for this position.

• Reports to the athletic director, who provides overall objectives and final evaluation in conjunction with the high school principals
