About the role

This position is for a Special Education Generalist in a Self-contained classroom at the Middle School level.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to students with special needs in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
• Collaborate with other educators, parents, and related service providers to develop and implement effective educational plans.
• Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
• Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.
• A valid teaching license in Special Education.
• At least two years of successful teaching experience in a special education setting.
• Experience working with students with emotional and behavioral disorders.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of state and federal special education laws and regulations.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.

Skills

• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in using assistive technology.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay

$55,000 - $65,000 annually based on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM.
