About the role

This position is responsible for providing specialized instruction to students with disabilities in a self-contained classroom setting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students based on their unique needs.
• Collaborate with other special education teachers, general education teachers, and school staff to support student learning.
• Assess student progress regularly and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
• Participate in IEP meetings and communicate effectively with parents/guardians about student progress and needs.

Requirements

Must have a bachelor's degree in special education or a related field, and certification as a special education teacher.

Qualifications

Experience working with students with disabilities in a self-contained classroom setting is preferred.

Skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.
• Knowledge of special education laws and regulations.
