About the Role

This position is part of The Transformation Network, focusing on special education in a self-contained classroom setting.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences for students with diverse learning needs in a self-contained special education classroom.
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with parents, administrators, and related service providers.
• Assess student progress through formal and informal methods, adjusting instruction as needed to meet IEP goals.
• Manage classroom behavior using positive behavior support strategies and interventions.
• Maintain accurate and complete student records, including progress reports, IEP documentation, and compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff to ensure alignment with student needs and school-wide goals.
• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress, challenges, and strategies for support.
• Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and school-wide initiatives.

Requirements

• Valid Nevada Department of Education license with an endorsement in Special Education (Generalist or equivalent).
• Experience working with students with disabilities in a self-contained or inclusive setting preferred.
• Knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and compliance with IDEA and Nevada regulations.
• Ability to differentiate instruction and adapt curriculum to meet the needs of diverse learners.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
